Why We Love ReverbNation (part 2)

Here are the reasons we love ReverbNation #6-10. #1-5 are here

6. Revenue Sharing

If you sign up for their "Fair Share" program, ReverbNation shares 50% of the ad revenue they make from your pages with you. All you have to do is give them a PayPal account and they will add half of all the money they make from ads on your page into your account. Once you have a balance of $20 you can make a withdrawal and they'll put that money into your PayPal. It really is that simple.

7. Gig Finder

Another cool service on ReverbNation is called "Gig Finder," and it helps you find new venues to play. You can search for them by location, age of admittance, and the coolest of all by similar bands. Lets say you find another band on ReverbNation that you think would fit great on the bill with you, well then just type their name into the "Gig Finder" and ReverbNation automatically finds venues that they have played and other bands similar to them have played. It's a super easy and very effective way to find new gigs.

8. Recommendations

ReverbNation allows bands to recommend other artists, and these recommendations appear on the right side of their profile. Since these recommendations are coming from musicians whose fans (hopefully) trust their tastes and opinions, it helps validate you with their fan base and should drive a bunch of traffic your way.

9. Digital Distribution

Want to put your music on iTunes? ReverbNation makes it easy with their Digital Distribution service. It's the only service we mentioned that actually costs money, it's about $35 per release, but they will put your stuff on iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Napster, and a bunch of other sites for you. Honestly, we're going to try heading a different route in this area, but it's another example of how ReverbNation really is a one-stop site to handle all of a band's online needs. And even if you do use another digital distributor to put your songs on iTunes, you can use ReverbNation's "Store Links" feature to give people the option to purchase your songs off of your ReverbNation page.

10. It's Not Just For Bands

ReverbNation allows all different kinds of people involved in the music industry to make profiles, including band managers, music venues, record labels and fans. The site makes it easy for all of these groups interact with each other, connect, and collaborate. And if you ask us, the entire music industry is better for it.

In addition to providing all of these great services, ReverbNation also has absolutely fantastic customer support. You send an e-mail to them with a problem and you usually get a reply within thirty minutes. When had a problem with our MySpace it took weeks to get anything resolved. Not only do does ReverbNation provide awesome tools for bands to use online, but they do it with reliable support to back you up if something goes wrong, and that's why we love ReverbNation.
